Radon

JasonWx
Just got a Radon test back..  it was 4.0   seams to be on the cusp of needing mitigation.

Any one familiar with radon ?

I have no helpful information, but will comment anyway.

I think at 4 you should do another test to double check, levels can fluctuate.

We had to test for radon when we bought our place. I thought it was a law? Maybe it's a state law.  I think our number was under 1 or maybe around 1.  We never had it tested again, but we did some insane basement waterproofing which I have to believe helped.

Does this only really matter in houses with basements?  The cabin has a space under the floor with the windows down there that are always open.  Never had the cabin tested.

Jason if you want we can put peace and love in your signature.

If this is a house you are planning to buy than I would make them put in a ventilation pump. It's not as if you will need it but do it for resale otherwise you may be stuck with it when you sell. If this is a house you own, retest it.

My Dad used to test for the stuff --- he's the one who asked those questions --- according to him anything 4 and above should be mitigated, BUT, if there are cracks in the floor/walls he suggested to seal all those up and test again.
