Was wondering, what is the Twiggyness rating of this massiff you slew so bravely ?
Consider this a twig test: what is your rating of this glade, Snowballs? (see scale at top of the page)
Marching Band.

Oh.  Not even a nibble ! You don't want to play. Alright. Let's see. How can I put this ? I know. I'll convert it to metric, eh ?

That glade, while not Trafalgar square, is rather open. Trees are nicely spaced about, proper like and it's largely absent those bloody little saplings ( the ones that slap you on the bangers ) so mostly safe passage for those. That is unless you're that old guy on sticks - the one what sports a clam beard and some low hangers - a spot of trouble for that bloke.

So, Overall - a Twiggyness factor of 4.5

Now Gouvernour, I'll convert it back to standard for the Yanks.

Wide open. Why even SBR's Squire Dave could lead a Marching Band - Sousaphones and all - right down through there.

I would concur. To give Snowballs due credit though, 4.5 is a solid estimate based on one photograph. Bring on the marching band!

It has been freaking cold lately. Snow in the woods is hard as rock, which makes for great walking. The dog loves these conditions. I snapped this fun image totally by accident yesterday, I was really trying to capture the otter slide track on the beaver dam:

Patience, Grasshopper. It is cool and rainy up here but no snow so far. Telemark Dave has looked into his crystal ball and seen snow in the forecast but time will tell.

Not to mention the fact that I won't get new snow tires on the Snowbaru until next Saturday. Slow down there, buckaroo.
