I took this literally from our living room out the front door last night.
Camp , you being the whitetail expert, does that belly look quite full?  Kinda late in the season?,  doe with two fawns in the backyard in the morning were quite independent.
You know she may just be carrying a fawn.....

So what happens if we put them on the endangered species list?  The area pristine in the US ideal for them to breed is 50 times the area they migrate to in the winter.  There is not enough habitat to support the birds in the winter.. We already have plenty of regulations assuring healthy habitat, more is only a money suck and another hurdle to get smart projects done. I say keep them off the list.

Great shot did you take that?  I can count on one hand how many times I have seen them in the woods.  Great looking bird and the way they glide through the forest so quietly is really majestic...and kinda scary.

tj, yes I took that image, around noon! Had been seeing glimpses and hearing raspy hissing calls while wandering about out back of our property.

I guess the bald eagles' comeback in New York is old news at this point but I still get a kick out of seeing them. This was on the drive up to Plattekill Sunday morning, above Roscoe, near Pepacton Reservoir.

I saw this Peregrine Falcon feeding on a Starling in the Washington County Grasslands. I could actually hear it feeding.
