Saw two Brown Thrashers last night bouncing in and out of the cedar hedgerow on my neighbors property.

Among the most musical and enjoyable of all songbirds.

I first sited the brown thrasher four years ago. I kept a feeder up through the year. The thrasher caught my eye as it darted from under a meadowsweet bush to a lilac tree. Its rusty color and long tail sent me inside for my peterson. Didnt take long to figure out what it was. Another reason why i am working on an understory on our property!  

Woodcock is just ok. I've shot plenty of them. Actually my favorite bird is grouse. YUMMY!
