I tried to post it this AM, but couldn't from iPhone. Three events from the NWS Albany:
1. Tuesday Alberta Clipper: "ACROSS THE ADIRONDACKS...LOOK FOR 3-6 INCHES OF FLUFFY SNOW. WE DID NOT ISSUE AN SNOW ADVISORY JUST YET...BUT THAT MIGHT HAPPEN LATER TONIGHT."
2. Thursday Noreaster: "WE WILL BE DEALING WITH POTENTIALLY SIGNIFICANT SNOW EVENT STARTING THURSDAY... POSSIBLY LASTING INTO FRIDAY. "
3. Sunday: "ANOTHER POTENTIALLY BIG STORM...WITH LOW PRESSURE EXPECTED TO INTENSIFY AS IT TRACKS ACROSS THE GREAT LAKES. SUNDAY NIGHT AND MONDAY WILL BE THE FOCUS FOR THE BRUNT OF THIS SYSTEM... WHICH LOOKS TO BRING ENOUGH WARM AIR FOR A WINTRY MIX OR EVEN RAIN INSTEAD OF ALL SNOW. AS COLD AIR WRAPS BEHIND IT... A
TRANSITION TO A LAKE EFFECT FLOW WILL ALLOW FOR ANY MIXED PRECIPITATION TO CHANGE TO ALL SNOW ACROSS THE ADIRONDACKS AND WESTERN ZONES BEYOND MONDAY."
I don't like the third one as much, but maybe it will track further South as it is nearly a week out.
If the Euro model holds true, the Cats appear to be included in the 12-18" zone. Could be time for me to burn some New England vouchers however. Southernmost I've got are MRG, and Sugarbush. I know they're both a hoot with 18" of fresh snow. I just happen to be off Friday too, gotta love when the stars align. That much sweeter after being meteorologicaly pissed on lately.
NJ has a state of emergency in place and a winter storm warning. Meanwhile, Hamilton County NY has a winter weather advisory for potentially greater accumulations. I should have known better than to go to the grocery store this afternoon.
I think every flatlander needs to spend a winter up north, learning how to drive in, and more importantly, deal with snow and the cold. It's kind of sad how much people overreact to snow around these parts...
