That's a lot of moguls.  My legs would fall off if I tried to ski those all day.  More grooming!!!

Sno, you're trolling.

off the top of my head, it didn't go under freezing thursday night. if you groom wet snow you might as well turn away people that don't have ice skates on. plus, you lose a lot of base. I'm sure a few easy trails at least were groomed, but no way would they run a groomer up steins or ripcord. they manage to break a few winch cables a year even when conditions are optimal too, which led them to totally destroy the entrance of steins a couple of years ago. anyone who shows up at the end of the year can probably rip as well.

are you not going to show up at K because of the bumps this june?

nice report, Jeff,

I will just to say I did, but I won't last long.  Hopefully they just groom it.  I am maybe good for 10 bump runs in a day, my dad can't even do that many and my mom won't go in them at all.  I don't get much practice because Hunter's bumps are always nothing but an icy death trap.  The other place I have a pass at has no bumps at all.

see, that's what's wrong with park. you need to be able to ski the moguls because from there you can much more easily branch out to other aspects of being on the mountain the a rail slide doesn't lend itself to.

Yeah, it was a lot of moguls, but spring bumps are just so much fun!  We took Saturday off, and then skied at Gore today (Sunday), and my legs definitely didn't last as long as they otherwise might have.  Then again, I'm old.

That's exactly right.  It stayed above freezing Thursday night, so everything was soft from the get-go.

Excellent shots and proof that there is spring skiing somewhere this season. Those moguls look fun.

There's been spring skiing at a lot of places over the past week. You just have to go get it. Had a great weekend skiing soft snow at Gore, and last Sunday was great at Mount Snow.

And we're not even close to done yet.

Nice report, Jeff

I like Sylvie rocking the bumps (7yo in pink).

Word on the street (fb) is that she dropped Rumor last weekend, the steepest headwall in NY.

Yeah, we took her down Rumor for her first time on Sunday, but it was from the cheater.  Headwall was closed.  I wouldn't hesitate to bring her down the headwall in spring conditions, she does pretty well with both bumps and steeps.  She's probably got close to 30 days in so far this year.
