I was there maybe five years ago after a nice foot of snow on a Sunday, and just happened to be there after they dropped the rope for the first time of the season. There were maybe thirty guns blowing in there too. Utter chaos and madness, with maybe 50 skiers near you for most of the run.

They groom that thing? Damn, I have never seen less than Volkswagen bug moguls, other than that first day.

Everyone has a right to their own opinion, but that's crazy talk. I never thought it was even the best trail at Hunter.
It's a relatively long, narrowish trail that use to get bumped up pretty good. It can be fun for sure, but was usually icey and dark for the most part, even on a sunny day.

Does anyone else think its a top 10 Northeast trail?

It's damn good. The view of Rusk and the valley are stellar.  And it skis more like a classic old NE trail than most at Hunter or even Whiteface for that matter. I love narrow trails because they hold
Snow. For the most part purna is also empty when I go. I love it. It's a must ski for sure. But my favorite trail might still be Clair's, but there really are a few great ones to choose from.

That is an appealing description, how was it this weekend?

Prune is a skiers trail.. Great bumps curving falline...

I hit it on my board sometimes..
But when it's open - I like it because it basically empties out Clairs from people competing with the same lines as me...  So thats cool..

It was awesome when it opened last Friday...  had some of the first tracks down it that day and it was sweeeeeet...
