Everest....living in a tent, no running water.  The whole area sounds like a big dump to me.

This post was updated on .
60 pounds of waste left behind on average from each climber may not be a metric shit-ton but it’s still quite the crap load.

Re: Answering the big questions

There was an early chapter in the book Into Thin Air which described the disgusting sanitary conditions at base camp after which any faint desire to climb everest vanished from my brain.

I think they've gotten themselves into a real fecal. (Sorry - that was a stretch)

Everest is really deep in the bowels of the Himalaya.

Imagine spending 60k on an Everest attempt and then getting sick at base camp to never make the summit. That would be a serious case of "shitting the bed."

This thread reminds me of the time I caught that dude taking a dump in a box in the back of the store. Also the time I saw a guy pee in a refrigerator right in front of me. In both instances I didn’t know whether to shit or go blind

Pro tip:  If you ever get lost on Everest, just follow the trail of poopsicles and dead bodies back to a lower camp.

I bet those shit winds are fierce up there in the death zone.  Silent, but deadly...
