Re: Aspen Ski Instructors

I'd like to try being an Aspen ski instructor for a couple of years.

Looks like I might be missing out by not being there in my "rowdy bro" years, but I'd bet that early 40s might be good enough to take a bunch of 40- to 60-year-old millionaires on some stuff that scares them.

I wonder if they'd let me teach Alpine lessons on my Tele gear like Platty does.

Catskills Freeheel told me that Vail said no way and wanted it to get his PSIA Level (I forget) in alpine too.

Vail & Aspen are different companies with different corporate cultures.

I think Aspen ski instructors might even be unionized

MC I can ask Aleks and Brian about the Alpine on tele gear thing if you want me to?
They work out of Highlands which has some great terrain.
I think Snowmass also is very appealing and has some great skiing.  Blues get crowded but blacks are deserted most of the time given thier main clientele
if You French Fry when you should Pizza you are going to have a bad time

I was joking, but I'd ask them myself if I was serious.

I had a big conversation with Brian at ProJam about the incentives for buying/renting housing in the Aspen area for people who work in the county.
