Big Tupper to open for 13/14 ski season

Seems like they're going at it pretty level headed this time. Not trying to compete with Lake Placid, not doing preseason sales of tickets. Just waiting to sell until the snow flies. Looks like its going to be 100% volunteer ran. $25 day tickets.

This is great news. I will go there every chance I get this winter. If this winter can have a similar snowfall to last season, they'll have a better chance of making some $$. IIRC, they were only open for 10-14 days in 2011-2012. Here's hoping for some snow!

Haven't been checking in lately and just saw this. Getting any ski area running is great for the sport. I'm just wondering why this ARISE group and a bunch of volunteers are doing it? The ACR has the APA permit and actually owns the ski area(haven't paid for the land they propose to develop houses on yet) so why doesn't the developer(s) pry open the wallet and help fund this endeavor? It would certainly some good will towards all the local skiers( and non local) who are supporting this development.

Does ACR have any money?  The evidence seems to indicate that they aren't sitting on a lot of cash.

AdkJeff,  You nailed it. They have no money, the ruse continues. Big Tupper is the last thing the developers have on their mind.
