Can I take Mike Pratt's position?  I'll double the snowmaking capacity and open all lifts by Christmas.

What? I quit that job, Snowballs, because working there blows.

Are you rooting for it to continue to blow? Or do you think, maybe, the people who make your snow, groom your trails, and teach your kids deserve to be treated a bit better.

Not interested in the job (although Pratt made over 100k), interested in new management making much needed changes at the mountain.

Sno is going to fire everyone, use their salaries to buy more air and run it all himself.

I'd lobby the government to pay for doubling the snowmaking capacity, saying it would pay for itself with the increased revenue of having all lifts open for Christmas and many more visitors that week.

So you think the issues with Gore were Blazer's and not Pratt's? No judgement in that question, really just want to know.

You can lobby all you want but that doesn't mean that you are going to get it.

The annual reports of the past 5 years tell a different story. Gore had been the highest performer for the authority. Just cause they asked you not to come back..I hear because they think you are no it all did not change what the numbers say.

I heard that too, but I let it pass - no need to rub it in.

What would those changes be?

One small thing I'd like them to start doing is take the cars off the gondola when blowing snow on Wild Air.  They do this on the AE2 when blowing snow on Showcase.  Whiteface takes the cars off their gondola during high winds, heavy snow, freezing r*in, extreme cold, and when the lift will be closed for a long period of time.  It sucks when you get the gondola car that sat in the snowmaking all night and you can't see out and the windows are all frozen shut.

The nickname that I've heard that ORDA mid-level types use for Gore is "cash cow."

This is almost exactly what MP has done.  Except that the "lobbying" was involved both NY State and NIMO.  Capacity has double over the last ~8 years. I realize you want it doubled again and in one year, but one disadvantage Mike and ORDA have is that they are dealing with the real world and other people's money.  It's harder to spend other people's money.

With regard to the Christmas thing, there is an simple way to get it done in a year or two. Start removing lifts and giving back land.

Actually, in one case, that is the opposite of what happened.

You don't do the amount of expansion ORDA has done at Gore if it's a cash cow.
