Think it was $16 a fill.
They had five or six beers on tap, but not filling growlers on all of them. They didn't have the IPA for growler fills. I brought home the Dark Ale and they had "Burly Monk" and one other available. |

Second Fiddle is a American Double / Imperial IPA style beer brewed by Fiddlehead Brewing Company in Shelburne, VT
![]() Three of us shared a can of this hard-to-find IPA. I was already pleasantly gorged on half a growler of regular Fiddlehead IPA (which followed a Fosters oilcan on the train ride home). Poured about a third of a pint glass. Cloudy, creamy blondness, nice frothy head. Citrusy aroma, not as grapefruity as Heady Topper. Maybe a little hint of lemon? Not too forward on the hops with my nose in the glass, but then again it was only a third of a pint. Pleasant mouthfeel, with tingly hops on the finish. Very very drinkable. My wife liked it a lot and she does not go for strong beer. Petronio |

![]() A proper pint in a real English pub. Dark Ruby where the reviews state the if this where mothers milk none of us would be weaned. What better place to enjoy but in the true football capital of the world in the heart of the Midlands - Rugy UK. Finally a real craft beer with just the right amount of bitters.

Fiddlehead also makes an even harder to get IPA called Mastermind. Really good stuff I would say is as good as Heady topper. My best bud scored a case of Headytopper and gave me a 4 pack. Sign of a true friend is sharing your HT.

Tried I-87 at Tinney's Tavern atop Lake Desolation Rd. Not bad at all. No Heady Topper but decent hoppy beer.

I discovered Davidson Bros last year in a local beer shop down here in Pok. I generally like their brews. Isn't their brewery in Lake George? I like to support NY microbrews.

Have not tried this one yet, really not a fan of the Davidson bros beers.
I am always willing to give em a try though, and will find this one! Paradox brewery on the other hand kills it with their beaver bite IPA. Gore needs to get it on tap.

Adirondack Brew Pub is in Lake George. Some decent brews out of there, but my local fave is Bright Lights Double IPA from Common Roots brewery in Glens Falls. |

Bumping this thread because there is definitely a need around here to chill out and enjoy a nice fall brew. Here are some new offerings up north in newly Liberal Hinterlandia. I have never heard of dark lagers but I like dark beers and I like lagers, so these are bound to be good. Side Launch comes from Ontario ski country:

Cheers SBR! Do you guys do Halloween up there? I'm hanging out at home handing out candy and enjoying a couple of these while my own little ghouls are out trick-or-treating:
![]() Pumpkin Ale is kind of a funny thing. It's way overdone at this time of year. There's only a couple of them that I really like, and this is one of them (Magic Hat). The other one I like is from Saranac. Anyhow, back to the (adult) treats.... |

Yes, we do, though the parents have to make sure that they fuel up the snowblowers before they make their way from igloo to igloo. We live out in the boonies, at the end of a dead end road, so needless to say, don't see any trick or treaters. If you live in town, it is an entirely different matter.

Of the two, the Side Launch was my favorite. Nice dark amber colour and pleasant nutty flavour, I could could drink it everyday. The Black Lager was good, but a beer I would save for certain occasions, like a spicy plate of something. Or maybe bacon and eggs, if you are a "beer for breakfast" kind of person. It was a bit like a stout, which I like, but wouldn't drink all the time. That's about as technical as i get on a beer review.
