Crappy service or ...
I need a climbing bale for my Rottefella RT-8. Did some googling, came across a company called 123Mountain. Here is the entire chat: Please be patient while you are being connected with an operator ... You are now chatting with Peggy Peggy:Hello, Welcome to 123Mountain. This is Peggy, how may I help you today? Customer:I need a part for the rottefella rt-8 Peggy:good luck Customer:is that it? That was it. Pretty lame IMO.

Forgive my idiotic tele knowledge, you'd think I'd know this, but what is a Rottefella RT-8?

The black part on the heel seems to break. I think I broke mine at Snow Ridge.
Rottefella RT-8 I actually found it on the site after Peggy ditched me. 25 bucks.

I would try and talk to someone else with the company from now on or I would just stop using them. The truth is Harv you are an industry person, maybe just a small cog of the machine you are obviously doing your part promoting this sport we love so much and it's just bad form for someone in a company like that to treat you, or anyone else for that matter so poorly. I doubt she is a complete representation of that company and her higher ups would not be happy to hear about this. Give em another shot but talk to someone else.
I used to have several contracts with ski companies. One company in particular the team manager was such a dink it basically made me want to just say screw it this isn't worth it. A photo of me was used for posters for unsaid company during the ski industry show in Utah and elsewhere and a year later was used for a full page advertisement that ran in two issues of a Canadian ski publication. Every time I called him to discuss things he didn't remember who I was and treated me like total crap every time. He told me he would send me a poster but I never got one. I had another picture of myself published in an add that you could clearly see the company's brand logo and under the contract I was to be honored a paycheck. A paycheck of 200 dollars to be exact, whooped dee do dah really but it would have made my efforts a little more worth it. I never got that paycheck, the next year I stopped giving a damn about being sponsored and I have loved skiing a little more than that period ever since. I felt that my efforts at that time to make my self marketable were bordering ridiculousness for the paybacks and I was likely going to get hurt, possibly very badly even. My point is that there are good and bad people in the industry, some companies are fantastic and others are represented by some serious A-holes. IF the company is more of the latter I just won't support them. That being said the good ones, are really good. Fate clothing for example was made up of some of the coolest and down to earth folks ever. They gave me hope but even so I walked away from free gear just so I didn't have to play the game any longer. |

You should be happy in only took 2 messages. Those chats usually go on for 20 messages before you decide it's a wasteful endeavor

For future reference, check with Mike Miller at Basecamp Outfitters in Killington. They have a vast parts inventory for all things tele.
Gotta go to know

Ok, found them Harv. I'll be sending them to you ASAP. Consider it tribal courtesy. Or , maybe it's my socialistic, divy up the wealth, Canuckistanian nature.
