DV/PC UT 4.3-4.5

gorgonzola
after much deliberation over the past few weeks my wife and i said fnck it  - we wanna ski some more! so we found some kid coverage and decided without any real optimism for a powdah pop that our best bet for a reasonably cheap short trip for some spring bumps and groomers would be slc.

we left the lehigh valley tuesday around 4:30 am easten time and were on the snow at deer valley just after noon mountain time. we took advantage of the free day of arrival tix. temps were cooking in the mid 60's and made for some fun spring skiing. mrs snowbunski and i ran a few groomers on bald mt before catching up with a mountain tour heading out. we did a run off of lost boulder with half of us doing the low angle bump section at the bottom to thin out the herd, just two of us headed out with the mountain host for the advanced tour. lots of big soft bumps with the highlight being in empire bowl. lots of great views but never stopped for any pix. met mrs snowbunski back at snow park for some sun and suds on the deck. we were wiped by then and what better way to end a day at deer valley than subway and a six pack back at the best western - uhuh, living large baby!

day two bluebird and warm

followed the sun around before settling in in the parleys/silverlode area for more spring fun. we went for some spring bumps and groomers and found the motherlode there

finished the day on pc deck and general store with a few cuthroat ales. sampled some other local brews, cutthroat and full suspension being my go to's

day 3 the temps dropped and everything set up so we spent the day doing big gs turns off of the bonanza chair in the morning and king con in the afternoon

some of the old abandoned mining structures were pretty cool

in contrast to the beauty of the wasatch

of course it snowed around 4" just as we were getting ready to leave friday morning

Not enough to cancel our flight though. great way to end the season and looking forward to getting back out to check out alta, snowbird, pow mow another time in a good snow year

Nice, I think we can find some good riding right around GP....I just need to remember where all the trails are from my dirtbike/snowmobile days and we'll be good. The guy who owns the shop where I bought my bike rides at Hammond Hill all the time....says it's darn good.

Knee is doing pretty darn good....started PT and anxiously working hard to get on this damn bike!!! First day back to work and I'm beat...think it's time to head out!!
