Ours is Arizona Snowbowel and is in reference to our use of 100% reclaimed waste water for snow making. It's only used by the anti Snow Bowl folks.

Plattekill = Splattekill (did not make this up)

Although I'm a victim of this myself, I hate the term "Platty" It makes the place sound pathetic while it's really not.

Gore = Bore (hear this from people at WF)

And just heard this one today: Hunter = "The Ravine"
