Development at Gore Mtn.

Thanks for the article Jeff.  I heard rumors about this as early as this summer when the train started back up.  Good to see they are going to make it happen.  Would love to see a brewery or something like that go into that space but something is better than nothing.  Good to get local wares a platform too.  Still bummed that M&B town left.  I think the guy who owned M&B, Copperfield and the Frontstreet land still owns that shopping center.

It would be nice if we could convince the railroad that they should support the rails to trails proposal.  They could do bike tours in the summer (Bus people up to Tawahus and let them coast back to NC) and do guided snowmobile tours in the winter time.  Would be better for them and the town than freight IMO.

Rails to Trails sounds like a great ides.  Is it dead in the water?

The rail trail is in a tricky spot right now.  SNCRR is trying to reopen the rails to Tawahus and they are being challenged by groups that want the tracks/trail to go back to natural state.  Here's a letter from Curt Austin to the Surface Transportation Board:
