The lesser peaks are much less money..I looked into it when I had the climbing bug...
Aconcagua in Argentina is 6k plus air
Cho Oyu is 30k plus air..
Denali is 11k plus air

 

So the pricing is demand based, not cost based. I didn't know that.

No thanks! I like my outdoors left uncrowded. I've lived here for almost 20 years now and I still haven't been to Havasupai. they can have like 500 people camping down there at the same time. That's a lot of fecal matter seeping into those swimming holes. YUK!

If you want to get freaked out, do an image search for dead people on Everest.  I heard enough stories about frozen corpses that I decided to do a search.  Best not to do this right before bed.
