There has been a local guy who has been negotiating with them for a few months now, but I had heard that the one of the owners (husband) would not agree to the terms. JMP tried to work with the lodge this summer, offering mt bike rentals, and trying to clean up the trails, but the trails are very rough condition, and in a lot of places, completely gone from washouts.
At this point, I don't think that the trails could be opened this winter in their entirety, but maybe the closer, flatter trails near the lodge could used...

Good for the new guy.  Sounds like not so good for the last people.

Hope they can make a go of it.  I like to hike over there in the summer and grab a beer.  Its a nice place to let the kids run around.  A few years back they had a sprint tri there.  Would be cool if they brought that back.

Yes, the sale went through last Friday and Don and Mindy are the new owners, and they have brought back many of the employees who worked for George Heim, back when the lodge was thriving. And, I can confirm that with a tremendous amount of hard work, the trails in are in great shape, just awaiting snow!!

This is another good sign for our area

That's good news.  We had a great time mountain biking there this summer. I hope they keep that going too.

Mmm... MJ's pies and Chef Andy's shrimp.

Actually Chef Andy's everything. Loved his cooking.  Would be great to see the lodge thrive.

I'm really happy that the new owners are planning on keeping the resort running.  As Poindex stated, the mountain biking in the summer is a lot of fun.  I think I may need to invest in some cross country skis.

Garnet Hill Lodge is having a really solid summer.  I had a glass of wine with the owners.  Fascinating.

They attribute a significant amount of recent business to the new cell tower in Wevertown.  People finding them via mobile.

Very cool to see.  We may be working with them.

Yesterday I ran into someone rollerskiing in Bernardsville NJ of all places.  He's skiied Garnet with his family both before and since the management change and was pleased with the product new owners are putting out.

Garnet Hill Lodge has been sold again:

Garnet Hill Lodge and cross country ski center in New York's Adirondack Mountains has a new owner.
Former software executive Donald Preuninger sold the 268-acre resort for $1.34 million to Garnet Hill Resort LLC on Sept. 28.

The new owner has had a home in the GHHOA for many years and has the capital to make some much needed improvements to the lodge and to the trails. Good news in my book!!

Screw confidentiality! The purchase price reported to Warren County was $1,377,500.
