I create plenty.......I just leave it off the internet.  So I will be like the proverbial tree in the forest.
Why not share it and make the internet a better place instead of the cesspool that you contribute to?

I don’t consider it a cess pool. It’s a sometimes lively, sometimes contentious exchange of ideas.

Ok - but aren't there specific forums for such exchanges?  Why bring it to a ski forum?

And plenty of shit is posted around here unrelated to skiing and riding.

Vail bought Mt Brightonin Southeast Michigan and right away they put 10 million dollars in the ski area. They did everything from a new snow making system to a new lift and rebuilding the old lifts and an overhaul to the lodge.Brighton was in a bad downward slide when they took over.

face it, Skiing is a tough tough business. In the East you can't exist without full snowmaking and bounce back potential, The West is a little more stable but most are far from the population centers and need to make people come hundreds or thousands of miles to partake of their product. A ski resort can lose money because of rain, ice, fog, too cold, too warm, even too much snow, or of course not enough snow. If there is a recession skiing is one of the first things cut out. Those who do well skip Vermont for Colorado. So anything that keeps the mountains going is ok with me. Oh did I mention Global Warming?

I just saw that Stowe’s undiscounted at -the -window weekend ticket price is $139 + tax and that Killington and Stratton are at $129. To me that’s abaolutely insane. What percentage of skiers do you think pay the front line price still?

Percentage of skiers in general?  Or percentage of skiers at destination resorts that are also on a multi-resort pass?

Supply and demand, and location . . . weekend rates in VA are about $80.  That's for around 100 acres where the long runs take 2-4 min to finish, mostly groomed trails.  Lift lines are typically 20 min from 10am-2pm.  So that means 2-3 short runs per hour.  Makes a day ticket at Killington or Stowe seem like a decent value even for an intermediate who only skis groomers.

The question of more interest to me is whether Stowe will still have parking issues and long lift lines on weekends.

you would be surprised
Last year had had to buy walk up tkts at Breckenridge , somewhere around 180 each..There were plenty of people in line doing the same..
I felt like I was being robbed..
And no I didn't have to buy them and ski , but it was a no choice moment..

Boyne Mtn in Michigan is $98 weekend walk up rate for a 500' hill. If given a choice I would rather pay $130 to ski Killington. The only reason I will ski Boyne this season is because I bought a punch card for Mi ski areas. You get lift ticket for 33 ski areas for $260. I should make it to at least 9 of the places, which brings me down to $29 a lift ticket.

Have you heard of many Boyne regulars who went for the Ikon pass after Boyne Mountain and Boyne Highlands were added?

There are multi-resort "cards" and reciprocal agreements in New England too.  But a lot of people were happy when the MAX Pass included quite a collection of northeast location plus a few out west last season.

180?!?!

Holy frack man!

That’s insane.

I dig our power pass. We have three days at a bunch of places in Colorado. I think Codes and are gonna go check out Copper and Loveland in a few weeks or we could just go back to Durango, if they get a bunch of snow. Summit county has never been on my radar other than camping out at A-Basin but with 6 free days of skiing.....why not?

I am not sure how many people have the Ikon pass. Boyne is 3 1/2 hrs north of me. I know of two people who bought the Epic pass since Vail owns Mt Brighton which is 20-30 mins from me. My buddy who has the pass said there are a lot of people there with the Epic pass

I just saw that Vail but up their third Australian resort giving them basically all of the major areas in the land down under.

I wonder how large the Australian market is coming here during their summers.
