Gore Mountain Adirondack Express Lift Repair

Does anyone have any news regarding the broken Adirondack Express lift at Gore?  Last I heard, we were waiting on a gear box to be fabricated and delivered from Germany.  Without that lift, the crowds at the base over MLK weekend will be insufferable.  

They're discussing it, maturely even!, over here.

Wednesday before the big holiday weekend and the AE is not showing as open on the website. If they don't get this lift back on line, it will be really ugly.

This is what I got via txt on this:

"The last of the parts are on the way. Installation and testing tomorrow. Should open late on Friday."

Emailed update from Gore this afternoon:
We plan to open the Adirondack Express on Saturday.

Great news!... fingers crossed.  MLK without the Adirondack Express may be, well,  difficult.

My worst fears appear to be coming true.  The diversion of Orda funds to run and then lose money at Bell is sapping funds to do preventive mait. at Gore and WF.  Instead of fixing things year round Orda now waits for them to break down becuase Bell has sapped money and focus.

I'm guessing that we need to suffer thru another year or so of Bell crapping the bed with losses before Orda pulls the plug on it and refocuses on their original and true mission of running Gore and the Olympic Venues for the benefit of the Daks tourism economy.

Good to hear that Gore got this lift running again before the MLK weekend.

I doubt ORDA'S going to pull the plug on Belle.

That lift is 30 years old and it's breakdown has nothing to do with Bell.  ORDA is continuing it's decade long push to update hardware at Gore and I see no signs that it is slowing down.  This breakdown of the Adk Express will not reduce ORDAs drive to replace that lift.

I think we will have to wait for you to be elected governor before ORDA is allowed to dump Belleayre.

ADK Express is running smoothly right now.

Why does everything always have to come back to Bell for this guy?

SOOOO glad they they got her up and running. Thanks for the updates. I was actually thinking of dragging the family to WF tomorrow. I'm ecstatic that we didn't have to stoop so low (sarcasm intended).
