Ski Day 23: Gore really surprised me today. I mean I knew it was going to be warm, but I had no idea that the mountain that delivered some meh reviews on Friday and Saturday, would ski so great.
Gondi went around 8 and at 8:10 I got my own gondi car. Come on people what?
Foxlair was firm, but decent. Then when I got onto Sunway woah. Serious carvable snow.
On my second run, I ran into freeheeln and fixheeln at the Quicksilver turnoff. Back into the gondi and up to the summit. I really didn't want to head up, as the bottom seemed best, but the force of the group dragged me up. EDeO, Chuck, Bobbie and those peeps were hanging too.
How often does the Hawkeye headwall just peel back like that? Chatiemac was great too. You could turn anywhere.
Top of Lies was all new, farther down kinda sketch. One Lies, and then over to the Dark Side for the rest of the day.
First time dropping in to the Dark Side is always memorable

By 11:30 I was feeling the pull of the long drive home. MC: "Hey want to hit Tahawas on the way down?"
Yes. And another.
I found myself thinking... this is the best crappy year I've ever had.
