Guess the sport

evergreen
Starting last summer, and really delving into it more this summer, we have a new sport.  This activity comes closest to skiing in terms of a relatively steep learning curve, reliance on weather and excitement.  I love it almost as much as skiing.  Any guesses?

Also, they started blowing snow at Sunday River today, and that got me thinking about this website.

Still, my MTB is to downhill as nordic is to alpine. I take it pretty easy. Love it.

Reliance on weather isn't even close though, IMO.

uhh golf lacks excitement, mtb not really weather dependent.

I'm going with windsurfing / surfing although I really don't consider surfing a summer sport, much better in the fall when the storms start rolling in

Re: Guess the sport

So the answer is windusfing, good job pro2860.  I'm starting to get it and spend more time on the board than in the water.  When you start flying with a gust of wind and coming up on plane, it kind of feels like ripping a nice set of turns in fresh snow.  I find myself thinking about it at work, like I do about skiing.  Mattchuck2 also is on to something, people who kiteboard tell me it is even better, "you wont want to windsurf again."  I haven't tried that yet, but I'm thinking of going someplace warm next May for a week where I can do both.

When windsurfing is good , it's better then skiing...Spend a week down in Hatteras..Laying down a perfect jibe is a religious experience..

Learn to water start...In my opinion the most import thing you can learn..
