That's good news. The Hinterlandian groundhogs are inconclusive. According to a
story in the National Post, our "country’s first two furry forecasters have brought good news to winter-weary Canadians on Groundhog Day: Nova Scotia’s Shubenacadie Sam and Ontario’s Wiarton Willie both failed to see their shadows Thursday morning.... But the prediction from Canada’s other groundhogs, Alberta’s Balzac Billy and Quebec’s Fred la Marmotte, weren’t in line with their furry cousins. Balzac saw his shadow in Calgary Thursday morning, meaning winter will last another six weeks. Fred saw his too, in Val-d’Espoir in the Gaspésie region."
Time to plan a trip to the Chic-Chocs! Or is that the Chic-Chucks?
