Hickory will open this Saturday, December 21 2013

Hickory will be opening this Saturday, December 21, 2013 for a special bonus day of pre-Christmas skiing! And although it's still a few days before Christmas, Santa is coming early in the North Country with FREE (yes, FREE) lift tickets for all children ages 12 and under, with the purchase of an adult lift ticket. Tickets will be $25 for adults. We plan on opening the lower mountain, served by the T-Bar and Poma 1 to the midstation on an 8-10" base of natural snow.

In light of the warmer temperatures forecasted for Sunday, ski patrol will evaluate snow conditions on Saturday evening and make a determination as to Sunday operations.

This Saturday is the 21st on my calendar.  In any case, good for Hick for getting open.  Hope to ski there more this winter.

I think that lower elevation all natural snow will be "interesting". That being said, I hope it works out and everyone has an awesome time.
