Hillman's Highway Slide

I hadn't heard about this until today. Apparently Irene moved some things around at Tuckerman Ravine.

Posted by the New England Ski Museum:

"185 years to the day after the historic Willey Slide in Crawford Notch, tropical storm Irene triggered this landslide on Hillman's Highway in Tuckerman Ravine. Hillman's is a favorite of spring skiers and it remains to be seen if the changed landscape will effect the winter snowpack."

I find this interesting.  Everybodies been really excited about all these new slides but it still remains to be seen if they all will hold snow or not.  since they are so new and devoid of anything that the snow can stick to I think potentially they could be really high avy danagers as well including slide 3 at WF.
