Just got back from skiing at Hogback, Vermont today.
Weather: Partly sunny, high 20's
Conditions: Frozen granular with an inch of powder on top
Crowds: none
Recent grooming: none
Had a comp ticket to use up for Hogback, and didn't want it to go to waste:
Arrived to an empty parking lot this afternoon. A few tourists admiring the view, but that was about it.
Made my way down Rim Run to head to the lifts:
Arrived at the warming hut and the base of the twin T-bars. Yay - no lines!
Shoot - looks like the lifts weren't running today:
So, decided to hike up the intermediate Ripperoo:
Caught a glimpse of the twin T-bars on the way up:
Made it to the top tower of the higher T-bar (Sugar T-bar)
Checked out the rest of the summit...looks like the T-bar bridge for the Alpenglo T-bar (Practice) won't be in use tomorrow:
Took a run down the Practice Slope and back to my car. Check out the video:
So, a good afternoon at Hogback...a great day to ski this medium sized ski area in Southern Vermont, as I hadn't actually skied it before. Hiked it, yes, but never skied.
Hogback is perhaps the best lost area to explore in New England...on public land, lots to see, and you can enjoy it by hiking, snowshoeing, skiing, wildlife study, etc.

Driven by Hogback many times on my way to see friends in NH. Never knew it was on public land and you could hike it and ski it. Thanks, will have to try it one season.
Jeremy, very nice report. I believe Hogback was the place I first had skis on my feet. I remember it as a busy place, sad to see it's current condition. Have you ever skied the remnants of Petersburg pass?
