Holiday Weekend - Big Dump

PeeTex

Can you say lift lines.
For WF & Gore, parking is likely to be the limiting factor, get there early.
For Vermont - your SOL.
Don't ski the trees, ski the spaces between the trees.

I am going to Pico and Killington, what does SOL mean?
I've lived in New York my entire life.

The S stands for a bad word. Enough said.

Something tells me I should bypass Gore this weekend and head to Big Tupper. They're reporting another 3-4 inches and it looks like it's still snowing right now.

Killington will be a mad house - don't even think of going to Bear Mt pod that day.  If you stay high in the Canyon area you could be ok but the bottom lifts will be crazy.

Pico will not be bad at all. Pico will still have freshies in the woods on Saturday.

I don't think Whiteface will be that bad except for the Gondi and Face Lift.  Stay above Mid station Lodge and you will be fine.
if You French Fry when you should Pizza you are going to have a bad time

Good luck with that. The base at Tupper is still a little iffy for me. If I wasn't going to be at Gore, the only real option to get away from crowds would be BC.

njadk: tupper got about 2-3"s but that will just barely cover the rocks and dirt which will be exposed quickly after a few runs. They also only have one lift servicing the lower terrain. If you go I'd recommend rock skiis, the ticket price may only be $25 but you'll end up spending more than that on a tune up afterwards.

Pico is great and will be empty. If you get bored, hit the middlebury college snowbowl. The only line is for the beginner chair, and there's a lot of fun stuff.

Thanks for the inside scoop. Sadly, I don't have a long weekend to play with, and since I can't work in a full day of skiing at Gore into my schedule, it's Tupper or bust. Tupper is actually closer to me than Gore. We'll see how it is. If you see or hear anything else, let me know!

When you're going for the world record you can't afford to let anyone on the chairs.
