How is Jay Peak going to be MLK Weekend?

I have a Jay Peak gift card that I want to use and it's 3 hours from Potsdam, so not too hard to get to.  I absolutely refuse to deal with the Chevy Weekend shit show at Whiteface if they fail to open Wilmington by then despite perfect weather so I'm looking at other options.

Looking at the snow report it looks like they're close to being fully open and if they get some more snow by then they could be 100%.  How crowded do they typically get on MLK Weekend?  It's not a Canadian holiday so I don't think it would be much different than a normal weekend.

And knowing Glade Runner and seeing all the powder he scores there changed my old opinions of the place so disregard anything negativel I've previously said about it.

If Jay isn't going to be at its best at that time then Tremblant or Killington/Pico on Max Pass or Gore would be the other options.

Jay does not black out deals and vouchers for MLK weekend so that is telling. I always keep a voucher for Jay in reserve for MLK since most other mountains black that weekend out. It will likely be busier than a non-holiday weekend but definitely not holiday weekend busy, much less busy than areas closer to metro areas. With MLK at Jay, recent weather will be more of an issue. It is snows that weekend, it'll be crowded (unless it is a localized sleeper). No new recent snow, normal weekend.

I would take Tremblant and Killington off your list for mlk. They will be crazy busy and full of straightline jerrys.

I'm concerned about the weather Thursday Friday.  Going to be a classic thaw and r*in event followed by a deep freeze.  Probably not a good time to go to Jay.

Thinking about Tremblant but they take at least a week to finish grooming everything after a thaw.  Maybe I'll just go to Okemo on Max Pass since I know they have very good grooming.
