Has anyone hiked around the bottom of the "new" quad. Coming over from Wayout, you have to ski uphill! Or is that going to be cutoff and we will use the old cutover to Y. If so, they have a lot of grading to do and a lot of stumps to remove! Hope I am just seeing the unfinished product!
I haven't been up to Hunter, but here's my (somewhat) educated guess ...
Lift construction started in early May - soon after the end of the season and has been going on all summer. There isn't much time to spare. Crucial dates have got to be cement/footing pouring, and lift tower (chopper) installation. It makes sense to me that grading would be left until the end.
Chopper day is a really big deal and I'd bet that Hunter Mgmt is heaving a sigh of relief now that they are down to running the cable, hanging the chairs and doing the final grading. They've got two months. The last two lifts that Gore installed, had chopper day in October, so I think Hunter is doing pretty well.
If anyone knows more about this, like I said, it's just a guess. ;)
Can't wait to see the GoPro Video they shot.
