Hunter is a lot more attractive when the leaves are out.

Never mind that - Hunter is a lot more attractive with a HSQ installed on West.

Look at these details:
Drive Type: Poma Detachable Alpha Drive
Slope Length: 3743' (1141m)
Vertical Rise: 1295' (395m)
Average Grade: 36.85%
Rotation: clockwise
Line Speed: 5m/s (984ft/min)
Number of Chairs: 80
Number of Towers: 15
Uphill Capacity: 2,400 p/h
Chair Interval: 6 sec.
Trip Time: 3.81 min.

This should allow for more snowmaking on Claire's. I hope they try to do more on 44.

I think that it was last fall when they decided to refurbish the old HSQ.

X - how does the lift affect snowmaking?

I'm not in favor of HSQ on every liftline, but from what I know, I think this is a good spot for one.

I'm betting you'll be diggin' it X on those mid-week excursions.

The main lift on Hunter West was the Z which ran up Claire's. I read somewhere that removal of the lift allows more snowmaking on Claire's. Maybe with the increase in uphill capacity they will blow snow more often on 44.

Mid-week at Hunter is a dream. It now becomes even better. I do think that this HSQ will make the weekends better as the crowd will be more evenly spread out.

The Z double was cooked. I could never get my skiis on the footrests and when I rode up with anybody who weighed more than 120 pounds it was a tight fit. A fixed grip quad would have been fine but a HSQ is even better.

I emailed Jessica at Hunter Mtn back in June. She got back to me today. It will definitely be a HSQ..

Has anyone hiked around the bottom of the "new" quad. Coming over from Wayout, you have to ski uphill! Or is that going to be cutoff and we will use the old cutover to Y. If so, they have a lot of grading to do and a lot of stumps to remove! Hope I am just seeing the unfinished product!
