It’s NY Fire Season Already

An early start to the NY fire season?  Fire warnings (due to low humidity and expected winds) were issued in my area yesterday.  This was Breakneck Ridge (which some of you have surely hiked) last night.



This fire was caused by sparks from trains coming up and down the Hudson Line, but it spread quickly and (rumor has it) engulfed some vehicles along 9D at Breakneck, then raced up the mountain.

Point being, be careful out there....doesn’t take much to get a fire going out there right now.

I could smell it when I got home yesterday. Glad it's under control now.

That picture is eerily beautiful.  It's also horrid, because this happened in early March.

Climate change is very real.
