Jay Peak advice

DomB
Guys (and Gals) -

My family and brother's family are heading up to Stowe next week.  My bro wants to get a ski day in - can you guys give thoughts on Jay?  One hour from Stowe and it seems like the most/only logical choice if we want some beginner terrain.

My brother and his wife are intermediate skiers, and their kids are novice, including a 5 yo.  As of yesterday, Jay was 100% (419 inches of snow reported!).  Anything from trails to parking lots to off map stashes welcome.

I am not sure if we will get into the trees as that would be just my son and I would be jumping into that.  That intel welcome : )

We have lodging.  Also, we'll be up for a week, so any thoughts on fun stuff is welcome.  We go Stowe almost annually, but I know there is a lot I don't know.

Slower ski year for me, but with this I would hit 17 or 18 days.

Happy Easter/Passover!

Best,
D

See my recent trip report.  There's a lot of snow up there still

SBR has the definitive TR on Jay.  From about 5 years ago, I think.
Sent from the driver's seat of my car while in motion.

Belated thanks, SBR!  We ended up not bringing the gear.

We stayed at the Trapp's in Stowe.  Apparently folks are skiing backcountry from Bolton to the Trapp's and vice versa.

I am a huge fan of Trapp Family Lodge.  Check it out.

Best,
D
