Glade Runner here, reporting on yesterdays first ski day of the season for me and the boys. It felt good to be just walking in my ski boots but even better to lock in the skis. It was hard granular at first but, the traffic smoothed it out and formed some bumps for us to rock out on. It was never too busy with maybe 5 minute maximum wait lines that died off substantially around lunch time. Some jumps on the side of the trails formed and it felt like winter up there all day.
Was below freezing at the base when we left so it never got in the high 40's as predicted. The walkway seems shorter each year and I'll try to get back there again before October is up. This is the earliest I've ever skied. While I have skied in October before, never this early. Now the attention switches to trying to get my first ever 2nd day of skiing in October in. Cornhead, Where's the Snow and another guy not from this forum went up. Not bad for $24.50 a lift ticket using the bogo coupons we had. Just feels good to have gotten out already.
