Re: Killington Conditions

Marcski
If that holds true, then the WC over Turkey weekend should be no problem.  There are a bunch of nights of low 20's weather a week to 10 days leading into the race.  And then it seems as though there will be a window every night leading up to  the race weekend itself.

Cold snap coming early next week.  Could be enough for Killington to open.

I agree that this is a great event for Killington, and the northeast. Unfortunately, I will be out of the country over Thanksgiving, so will miss it.

You have to take your hat off to the Big K! They weren't sure yesterday if they could pull it off today and let us know that today was a crapshoot and would be late opening. So, got some work done this am and headed over and got skiing around 1. Guns blasting on Rhyme and Reason and with the low clouds, lots of goggle wiping for visibility. Coverage, wall to wall and a delicious diet of early eastern crud!😜I was smiling from ear to ear all day!😃😃

Great to start my season today on 10" of fresh.  Still snowing up top to.  Hardly any wait at the lift line.  The chance for rain might have scared some off.

Yesterday was okay. I was hoping to see the sun, but we were stuck in a cloud all day. Conditions were meh. Sugary piles of snow along with patches of ice. Never really warmed up enough to get soft.

Definitely good to get a bunch or runs in and get my Tele legs going. There were even some bumps to play around on.

Nice low temps overnight. They should have been pounding the place.

Heard a couple of things in conversations that may or may not be true:

1. Superstar will not be open to the public before the World Cup
2. The World Cup stuff is on a different budget and they brought in new compressors to add capacity, so the hope is that snowmaking on the regular early season trails will proceed as normal.
