Ran into these two ladies on the trail today.  There was another up higher but I couldn't get her in frame.

You see lots of deer around here and lots of raccoons too but this is the first time I saw them hanging out together

This bird moved in and built it’s nest in record time. Eggs were laid before we noticed it was there. We can mostly use the back door for a while but there are certain times we have to use the front. The eggs are one thing but if they hatch successfully I’m gonna have 4 baby birds living on my front door.

Funny you say that. We’re in exactly the same boat. I can hear our hawk out my back window right now. Plus a ridiculous rabbit population and a huge ground hog was been living under my garage.

So many rabbits. They all scatter when I come outside but once I’m in the hammock for a few minutes they feel safe again

Re: Local Wildlife

JTG4eva!
We’ve got multiple chipmunk holes (in the ground they run into), numerous rabbits that play together in the yard, and squirrels...the squirrels were getting me nervous the other night.  There was like six of them, a yard gang of squirrels, some may have even had tats!  The rabbits come close to the hot tub when I’m out there, we’ll see what happens with the hammock I just put up.

Yes, the hawks circle above and we have owls around....so it’s not safe for all those other critters.  I suppose the turkeys that come through can be tough as well.  Fortunately no ground hogs, but an occasional opossum comes through.  We always end up with two different kinds of birds nesting under the deck.  It’s been a while since we got the nest on the front door wreath treatment though!

Not local, and this video is long (20 mins) but it's hilarious if you have the time. This guy is like and idiot savant or something.

This happened a few days ago.  And all this time, I thought it was some neighbor's dog doing its business in our yard.

While mowing the other day I almost ran over a baby rabbit. That would've been awful ☹️

Messy too, I bet. I almost hit a frog while mowing my parents’ lawn last weekend. It was right next to the patio too so probably would have left some evidence behind

Yeah, that would have sucked.

I’ve had quite the variety of dead things in our pool over the years.  I did save a baby bunny once.  I forget what I was doing in the back yard at 2am, but I heard this splashing in the pool.  Upon investigation I found a little bunny struggling for life in the water.  I fished him out, and I like to think the rabbits running around yard are descended.

Saw this little guy today on my lunch time walk. Future 8-Pointer?
My 5 year old phone doesn't take the best pictures or zoom too well.
