Long line vs more comfort on WF Gondi???

Z
A disturbing trend in the fancifaction of Whiteface is that this year the Ops staff is not filling the Gondi capacity to 8 as designed and is sending them up with only 6.  The line was averaging 15 to 20 mins wait mid morning.  The singles line is not a good option now compared to when you load to 8 as well.  It actually was taking longer in the singles line than the lines to the left.

I like Kelly and think she runs a good operation.  In the past the Gondi cars were loaded to capacity when it is busy but to 6 when its not.  I think that makes sense so why is that not happening now.  It must be coming from Management or Marketing that somehow the fancy money folks that WF is now steering their entire business towards prefer more room and a first class ride.

Killington loads 8 in their Gondi's even mid week and they are much less roomy to start with - on the K1 your knees touch the person in front of you.

Do you prefer to wait 25% longer to ride a gondi with 6 vs 8 capacity?

Flawed poll.

I want a "don't ride the Gondola anywhere" option. Gondy's are not conducive to tele skiers (better with step in bindings, but still a pain in the ass), and I don't like being trapped inside a container with a bunch of other people.

Give me an open air lift any day.

They have a number and a weight limit.  Even with six it is probably over weight a lot of times.  Sunday second gondola up was brutal.  Must have stopped for a while and the line built up.  Once G opened did not have a line the rest of the day.

Hmm. This is  greatly depends. How cold the kids and we are and if we want to sit in the Gondola. We typically just ride the lifts!

As an aside, Kton replaced the K1 gondola cabins for 2018-19.  More spacious for sure.

Any more than a 10 minute wait, start packing 'em in like public transit in Japan.

My thinking exactly.

The idea that becuase people can’t get in fast enough so you let the line and wait build up seems crazy too.

Absolutely. If the lifties  need to get a little rough, raise their voices a little- so be it. If it’s any more then a walk-on situation they should do their best to fill the cabins.

Seems lazy to me. Stuffing herbs into Gondi cabins should be a workout
