Looking for AT rig

skiwnw
Hey guys looking for AT skis\bindings\boots for sale.

Something mid-fat, around the 110 mark in the waste, 175 length (or so)

Light enough to tour, but can handle resort skiing if need be.

Have been looking at Dynastar Cham 107 HM line, but am open to suggestions.

If you have something that fits the bill and looking to sell please hit me up, or point me in the right direction if you know where to look.

TIA!

I laughed. Still you got to support a bro who wants to get into AT.

With a few exceptions, just about everyone that posts on this forum is mid-fat. We all need to tour some more, and become less-fat.

I bought a pair of Dynafit TLT Speed Turn 2.0 Alpine Touring Bindings from Telemark-Pyrenees for about $250. including shipping and exchange rate. No ski brakes but a great AT binding for the money.

Thanks for the info but that brings me to my next question.  Tech or frame binding?  Can a tech binding be safely used for resort skiing?  I've heard mixed opinions in that dept.

I have Dynafits (Vertical 12s, I believe) and they are rock solid. Coming from Freerides, I was really impressed with the Dynafits. That said, I rarely use them in bounds unless I am hiking for turns in bounds. I have dedicated lift serviced skis and my touring ski is more biased towards big radius turns instead of tight tree skiing, so I never use them in bounds. I think they would be fine for putzing around. Not sure I would want to race a GS course or ski a tight bump line with them but I put myself in tough terrain with them while touring and I never have any concerns. I just wouldn't want to abuse them in bounds, especially when they aren't mounted to the right ski for the job. So Tech isn't the best ski quiver of one but it could be done if you don't plan on beating on them. I prefer having the right tool for the job. Weight savings over non-tech bindings is immense.

I really like my Black Diamond Factor 130's. Discontinued now but they are still readily available online for a good price.  BD makes tech soles that are easily swapped for the Alpine ones that come std.  Not the lightest but nice and burly for the down and inbounds skiing.  But, I think I'm more of a free heeler now, so what do I know??

Cool deal...but where can one actually try these things on?  I'm in Northern NJ and to my knowledge the majority of shops around here carry strictly alpine gear.
