Walking Boss” an old logging term for the supervisor of logging crews often walking between camps. Loon’s founder, Governor Adams, was a walking boss for the logging company Parker-Young, before heading to Washington as President Eisenhower's Chief of Staff. After returning home from Washington, Adams returned to his true love in the mountains.

Walking Boss is also a ski run at Loon Mountain, with 40 percent grade, it is known as one of the steepest groomed runs in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. -- FEEL FREE TO SHARE ON SOCIAL MEDIA..

Awesome as always Ray. I had big plans to get all the northeast max pass resorts this winter but I'm way behind- still want to hit Loon though

Fun!  Your family's turns look really good.

How crowded did Loon feel on Saturday?  I like the layout but have only been there during early season midweek when it was pretty empty.  There is good reason why Loon won the SAM I AM A SNOWMAKER award a few years ago.

You seem to be hitting it really good. Better than us. It's hard when our home mountain is across the street and its ALWAYS not busy..  Loon is good. Wish we could have skied their glades and a couple of runs that were closed - enjoyed ourselves big time.

Ha..  Thank you!!  We have been really working hard at tipping, balancing and doing all kinds of drills as a family. Every ski coach and serious skier we know is recognizing this, so we must be doing something right.  Flattered and thank you for that. Made our day.

Well if you ski the hard stuff, its not very crowded and we hit the South Peak which was lap after lap after lap. We skied from 8:30 to 4:30 though know it can get pretty busy. The few times we hit the gondola, we noticed as the morning got later, the  busier it was. We decided then it was a good time to head to South Peak.  For sure we would go back...

Makes sense.  South Peak wasn't open during early season.  My sense is not that many advanced skiers think of Loon as a favorite for weekend skiing, so as long you get away from the beginner and intermediate terrain then it can be okay.
