MTB trails near Belleayre

Friend of mine's family has a house in a neighborhood right across the street from Belleayre...he recently bought a decent bike and has been coming riding with us more regularly...suggested we could use the house sometime to go up and ride in the Catskills.

I'm not familiar with MTB trails in the area - but is there anything that would be accessable say, right from Belleayre parking lot or access road?

I'm thinking of if we used this house, could we pedal out from the house without having to drive to a trailhead.

The closest trail network is Jockey Hill , which is close to 87..

Maybe peddle up Platte or ride Windham's  park..

Right after posting this I saw on their website that Belleayre has trails that you can access for free, just without the use of lift-serve?  What's the deal with those? Anyone been?

I found a summer hiking trail map, but couldn't find a bike trail map...are they the same in some cases?

check out the DEC State Land Interactive mapper and put on the layer for Mountain biking.  I looked quick and saw trails in that area.
