Enjoyed the report.  Interesting to see which places don't respond.  Includes Mt. Bohemia.

I stopped by Boyne Highlands, Nubs Nob, and Boyne Mountain during the summer.  (Visited a cousin in MI.)  All three places look poised to stay in business for quite a while because they have invested in activities outside the winter season.

Nubs Nob doesn’t really do much in the summer, but every year they put money back into the ski hill. The Boynes are definitely four seasons resorts.
I plan on doing my best on updating conditions for Mi this year

Too bad this isn’t a month to two month from now. If it stays cold it will at least be a good start

I grew up with family season passes at Caberfae 1972-78.  I can still feel the burn of the rope tows which from a kids perspective were either wicked fast or wicked long.  But it was lots of fun - I remember a run called Shelter which was the mogul hill - my older brothers dared me to ski it.

Go Midwest and East skiing!

Shelter is still a trail there, but is now a beginner run. Caberfae Peaks is totally different now.most of the old terrain is gone for now. They are added a third peak for 2020/20221 which will use some of the original terrain. They took out the last rope tow they had over the summer and put in a magic carpet.

The Sky-view lodge is still standing, but it is getting a little rough around the edges.

Great opening day at Caberfae November 17, 2018
They had about 50% of the hill open all of the North Peak trails in roughly 1000 customers and the snow service quality was excellent. I got to meet Tim Mayer senior who was partners with his brother before they sold the business to their sons. Tim Junior  is a hands-on older and you can see him going throughout the hill checking on everything all day long. This was her second earliest opening ever. We plan to meet with Michigan skier  and my grandsons on Black Friday for the next report.

This post was updated on .
Caberfae Peaks Shelter double lift Skied on 12/1/18 at Caberfae Peaks. They have a good 3’-4’ base of man made snow on the North Peak. The Souty Peak hasn’t been touched yet. That will start this week. Michigan is off to a great start this season. Not much natural snow but the snow making weather up until Saturday night and Sunday has been fantastic. Cold weather returns Monday night

Re: Michigan Ski Conditions

Most of Michigan is up and going. Swiss Valley and Timber Ridge in southwest lower Mi have yet to open and Mt Bohemia has pushed back there opening day from the day after Christmas to they hope sometime after the new year.
On Saturday I went to Caberfae again and they have a good 4’ plus of base on most of both hills. But they are still blowing snow

Bohemia has no snowmaking (makes sense) and has had no snow?
