Minor league baseball

I think I enjoy minor league baseball more then the the majors nowadays. The Rockland Boulders, our local team, aren't even associated with an MLB franchise. They're part of the Can-Am league, independent baseball. All the other teams in the league are from either New Jersey or Canada, which is convenient cause it makes it easy to view the other side as villains.



I'm a little embarrassed that I enjoyed the pre-game mini-wrestling as much as I did.



And of course the baseball

NO WAY!!!! Mini wrestling!!!! What a riot!!! Almost as fun as the time TJ and #14 went at it in the Cloudspin Lounge jousting.

My buddy Pro and I go once in a while to watch the Syracuse Cheifs play.

Minor league ball rocks.

We've had Jeter, Ricky Henderson and Nomar in our park.

I think the kids like it better because they can see. I like it because you don't need a heloc for a round of beerz.

Biggest name that I've seen at NBT Stadium is Stephen Strasburg. Place was packed that night.

When I was a kid, I remember going to Albany/Colonie Yankees games and before that the Albany/Colonie As. One of the big name guys played one night on his way back from an injury (I think if was Mattingly) and so many people showed up they ran out of space and let the overflow crowd watch from the outfield track.

I'm a huge baseball fan.  The minors are a great family entertainment value.  I wish Plattsburgh had a team.

Anyone else remember Griffey Jr. and Barry Larkin playing for the VT Reds/Mariners?

No, I didn't realize those guys played in VT. Upon reflection I realize it was Ron Guidry who I saw in Albany, not Mattingly

I too prefer Minor League ball . When i was a very young kid beforegrade school , we had Utica blue Sox team

I saw. The WHIZ KIDS. ( Jim Konstanty , Richie Ashburn, Granny Hamner , Robin Roberts , Willie " Puddin' Head " Jones , a year before they went up to become the National League Champion 1950 Phillies who lost in the seriesto theYankees .  Used to ho see the old Syracuse Chiefs and the then Albany Senators play too.

Munson is one of my three all time favorite players. For a few years, if you were down a run, with men on base, there was no one better.

Put the bat on the ball and drop it in the outfield.

I love the Cape Cod League..I have been to more game then I can count..It's baseball at it's best..

Happy 4th of July! What better way to celebrate then baseball and fireworks?



It was really crowded and we had some annoying neighbors so we moved the show to the outfield- always empty seats out there.



The most pathetic mini golf course in history!



Yes, they sang happy birthday to America before the fireworks.

Home team getting hammered.

We caught a game while we were on vacation, the Brewster White Caps. These guys really put the minor in minor league. They play at the local school, no stadium even. The Cape Cod League, I've learned, has a more history then I realized. In adition to Thurmon Munson, Aaron Judge, Mark Teixeira and almost 300 other MLB'ers came from here.


We sat in the outfield.

New Hampshire Fisher Cats vs Trenton Thunder.  Thunder is part of the Yankee farm.
