Mount Snow Conditions

Mount Snow did an amazing job recovering from the rain/thaw/freeze cycle this week. It poured rain on Saturday and didn’t freeze up until the wee hours of Sunday AM. In about 8 hours they blew a ton of snow and had the mountain resurfaced for Sunday AM. As the day went on the snow did get scraped off and ice was uncovered... but considering the weather pattern they worked miracles out there. I skied 9-4 on Sunday so it could not have too too icy.

1-25-2020: highly variable AM conditions ranging from gorgeous corduroy & soft carvable snow on Lodge, Ridge, and Thanks Walt, to ungroomed uneven muck that froze solid overnight on on lower Canyon. There was thin cover/no cover in many places (Sunspot had a large exposed pipe than ran across the width of the trail!) and Mt Snow missed opportunities to make snow over the past week. By 11am Ridge got very scraped off/icy in places which made it extremely treacherous due to heavy fog and heavy Saturday skier traffic. We left at noon to get out of there before the freezing rain hit. They need to fire up all the snowguns as soon as temperatures allow.
