It's already in west central NJ and will be spreading. You'll very likely see it in north Jersey this year.
Two years ago I saw a few. Last year I saw tens of thousands. They said if you see one kill it. There were too many to kill last year.

I don't think they're on the east coast yet. Might have been a Cicada Killer.

They dig burrows in my yard in the summer but otherwise don't bother you.

I'm pretty sure I saw a lantern fly last summer in Clifton Park. We also had a hummingbird moth.

I find the idea of dying from being bitten by hornets much more terrifying than from Covid 19

I got bit by a swarm of wasps as a kid and bees hornets etc scare the crap out of me

I’m crazy allergic to venoms and just about everything else that you can be allergic to. I haven’t had anaphylactic shock yet but two years ago I sure was close after one sting on my hand. So yeah, I’m a little scared to get stung too.

That being said, my kids mom is an icu nurse here and she said death by covid is no joke. You basically drown with fluid in your lungs. A lot of the patients have weird, neurological issues from the virus too. It doesn’t sound so good either.

Some nut job with a outdoor blog/channel got bit by one of these monsters on purpose.Holy crap was he in pain and swelled up like crazy..

I can take this down if necessary, but it’s kinda funny...wait, found a quick solution.
