Hi Warp....I'm saddened to read about the fork in your road to recovery.

You didn't try that AC/DC leg kick thing too early in your recovery, did ya???

In all seriousness, based on what you know, consultation with the group in Saratoga to rule out some variation of nerve/muscle entrapment sounds to be in order. Sure, back on the slopes and the links will be ideal, but first getting you out from under the cloud of the chronic pain is imperative.

Be strong man! Consider just playing mellow beatnik music for a while.  :)

WD, If I'm not mistaken, I was one of the first to respond to your Open Heart thread 8 years ago...wishing you the best and a speedy recovery then.  I am re-sending you my healing vibes once again.  I do believe, with your smarts and tenacity, that you will find the cause and be able to stop the pain. Like others have said, I know a pain doc in Burlington, VT. PM me if you want the name/address. Otherwise, stay positive, Warp.

Wow, this is sad to hear. All I can say is keep trying and I sure hope you find a solution that does not require a redo.

As un-envious as I am of your position, damn, I wish I could play golf they way you do.....and be married for 50 years.  I'd take either of those.

Best of luck to you.

To one and all: thanks for pumping up my sneakers guys , you are the best ! I remain positive theu all this and my faith in  god and my fellow man and thlove of family is the elixir that sustains me .

I intend to pursue all alternatives short of a redo . COach several of my buddies had Pete Van Eanaameen. Do their knees , and two of my buddies that had him had MY ortho do THEIR HIPS with GREAT successs. DR E's group is loosely affiliated with our hospital and so there is a connection . He is a wiz at knees . So the guy and his 10 doc ortho group in Saratoga are considered top shelf too. So we'll see . I am awaiting results from a test yesterday to check out some other blood markers before my doc connects with Saratoga , which mostly likely will be in January .

The issue is really deep nasty ache NOT sharp stabbing pain, it does affect balance however for the first 25 or so steps ,then on i can get  around walking with a limp  . But hey at damn near 74 now , i have seenmany contemporaries in nursing homes or worse , so im just going to stay  positive and keep on truckin !!!

Funny thing is all these decades crankin out brain bleedin level rock on my axes and like a damn fool standing near the amps and trick boxes , i got me some Pete Townsend level tinnitis in one ear.. But Being the damn fool that i am , still playing them axes daily , but NOW using ear plugs !! Told ja i weren't tooo damn bright !

Merry Christmas to. You all and take a run for me will ya !!

Re: !

Well one bit of good news today the test yesterday revealed no blood markers for inflamation or other symptoms of metallosis and that other indicators were ok .

So what we DO know is :
1Device is firmly imbedded in bone no gaps , 2 no looosening , 3 no evidence of and minute fragmenting of metal or metal allergy driving metalosis ,4 not an impigngement of PSOAS  tendon , 5 . Not a inguinal nerve issue , 6  no soft tissue masses
7 . From other tests most likely not a defective device

So hopefully the Saratoga group can pinpoint the muscle issue or identify exactly whatis driving. This

I am relieved to get. These latest test results and just finished a 50 minute gym workout to celebrate , also saw my primary doc  a great personal friend who was also working out at the hospital gym   And he too confirmed the latest results and told me  he has referred others who had some anomalies to the Saratoga group and they were significantly improved .

Have fun out there this weekend guys !! im wit cha in spirit .
