NYSkiBlog Winter Header Photo

As a lover of the High Peaks and winter I really like that photo of Skimore's, but I gotta ask what’s the connection to skiing?  NY Ski Blog doesn’t really even cover backcountry skiing (at least I don’t recall any blog posts on the topic), so I’m wondering if Harvey might want a more on-topic image.  Here’s one of SkiMore’s that I really like.  It's almost the same image, except that it includes a skier.  Maybe Skimore cropped the skier out when he originally proposed the photo, in order to make it fit the header better:

Still diggin ^^that first one skimore posted. But just not sure.  One thing I like about the original I used last year ... like to use WHITE type in the winter header, so darker photos are cool.  Nothins easy huh.  ;)

I was speaking specifically of the blog.  The forum has had a few backcountry threads, though I'd still argue it doesn't seem to be a real focus of the forum either.

This photo has always been a favorite.

ADKarver is probably right about too much sky in the other pic.  

Still, it's not easy to get a great shot, that horizontal, simple center, taken in NY.  It's the best option yet.

The top half of this could work.

Photoshop some Lange boots on them and some white crested mountains above and you got my vote.
