In case you guys didn't notice, I'm back from a 4 month hiatus and first posted in the Lookout Mountain thread.
Welcome back.  Was this a self-imposed hiatus or was there an intervention?

Mt. Peter does an outstanding job considering its location.  IMHO, it is the nicest metro NYC ski area.

Do you know if they are selling off any of the old chairs?
Sent from the driver's seat of my car while in motion.

What's the elevation at the top?
They open enough to make money?

They do a ton of business, coach, especially since Tuxexo/Sterling Forest closed. They're usually open from mid December to April 1. If anything, I would guess they're more secure financially then most medium sized hills around the northeast. I'm somewhat surprised that it's a new lift too but then again, how many 200 vert quads are there out there? I'm more surprised they're putting it where they are. It's only gonna serve half the mountain's vertical and maybe less then half their trails where they're installing it.

Nice pics, Sno. It was mentioned it in the conditions thread when they announced it but I didn't know the details. Honestly, I'm a little mystified. It seems to me like replacing Ole Pete would make more sense. They run that the least even though it's the only chair that really goes top to bottom and the bottom station requires a little uphill walk to board.

Without any information beyond a few visits to the hill and conversations with Carol, I'd guess that Mt Peter is profitable.  The new lift could be evidence of their success.

That place does a ton of lessons and can fully recover from a complete meltdown pretty quickly if the pond is full.
