So Sundays conditions werent bad due to the powder day the day before, but you couldnt see a damn thing all day so there really wernt many picture opportunities. Luckily Niseko puts markers on the edge of most trails so you can still find your way around when you cant see more than 5 feet in front of you. Sunday night I decided to go out and meet some Aussies on holiday in Japan, great people to talk to and they have some great food at their restaurants, id recommend Timashi's on the main strip in town. Monday was a much better day mainly blue bird most of the day, but the clouds came out for a bit. Since I literally couldnt find annupuri the day before due to the conditions i decided to explore it on Monday for a bit.
The only glimpse of sun Sunday morning while heading up the ace lift. Quick view from the peak before the fog rolled in This is what it was like most of the day Ski patrol must enjoy doing this all around the mountain So i turned in a bit early sunday but still managed 6 hours of skiing, heres some pictures from around town and of course Japan has the best vending machines, for those of you that dont know, on regular vending machines the selections that are blue mean it is vended cold, those that are red like coffee are heated Im on a time crunch currently so ill just throw up the rest of the pics |

Thinking about working at the Black Diamond Lodge next year if getting a Visa isn't an issue. I'll get there one day. Nice pics!

Yes I did travel solo, I stayed at a hostel only 100 meters from the lift. Language is not an issue at all, there is a lot of Australian run places to go to, but I tend to use a lot of hand signals. The main word is arygoto, which is thank you. A lot of places will have menus at counters and what not in case there is a language barrier, you can just point to what you need. I didn't rent a car as everything I needed was in the village, just make sure to bring yen with you cause not every place takes card, and there's only a few local ATMs and an international one in the kutchan area. |
This is a dream trip of mine. Thanks for letting me live vicariously through you and your TR.
Also, BEER IN A VENDING MACHINE!

Nice patchrick. I guess with regard to K early May may be the best bet this season as I think Superstar depth is a lower than last year. I'm personally hoping for a run to K in April, but you never know. Post up when you are going, love the opportunity to buy a soldier a beer.
