Old Taos chairs Hurricane Harvey fundraiser

marznc
Now that the makeover of the Taos Ski Valley beginner area is almost done, TSV is selling off their old beginner lift chairs.  Decided to send the proceeds to the Greater Houston Community Foundation's Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund.  Price is $200.  They have about 200.

Will they ship back east?

Certainly a good cause from a cool, funky ski area.

Here's the email listed for questions about the chairs: john.kelly@skitaos.com .  Nowhere does it say "pick up only."

Found an answer to the question looking for something else.  All the chairs sold out.  There was a plan to offer to season pass holders first, then to others.  Buyers had to pick up their chairs.

Taos Ski Valley Chairlift Fundraiser
Taos Ski Valley

In 1973 and in 1976, Lifts 5 and 6 were installed at Taos Ski Valley. The mountain crew dug all the tower holes by hand and mixed and poured their own cement. The labor of love that erected those lifts has lasted 44 and 41 years respectively, but this Fall, these iconic lifts are spinning into retirement. The chairs on Lifts 5 and 6 have been removed and are in need of new homes.

Taos Ski Valley is holding a Chairlift Fundraiser starting September 25 [2017]. Proceeds from the sale will be donated to the Greater Houston Community Foundation’s Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund. “We have a strong synergy and relationship with the folks in Texas,” says John Kelley, Director of Operations at Taos Ski Valley. “Donating the proceeds from the Chairlift Sale is our way of supporting those affected by Hurricane Harvey.” To learn more about the Relief Fund, visit https://ghcf.org.

Chairs can be purchased on Skitaos.com for $200 per chair. The sale will be limited to 2016.17 and 2017.18 Season Passholders and Taos Ski Valley employees from 9/25 to 9/30. Any remaining chairs will be made available to the general public from 10/1 to 10/15. Buyers can purchase up to two chairs per transaction. Pickup for the chairs will be on October 14, 15, 21, 22, 28 and 29 from 8am to 5pm in the Eagle Parking Lot. Buyers are asked to bring appropriate tie downs, vehicles and labor to load and haul the chairs.
