Looks like we will have to deal with another 5-7 days of this nonsense..Then we should get into a colder more seasonable pattern.

Bullshit. I believe this guy. He says there's a powder day on Tuesday with up to a foot of snow in NY.

C'mon, pessimist. Let's get some positive vibes going.

Hmm
Ones math skills are a little weak..Didn't I say 5-7 days?..So lets count,   Thurs, Fri, Sat, Sun, Mon, Tues..just bust'n chops
Yep around Tues things change for the better..
Unfortunately I have conflict of interest..I'm hoping for some big sierra snows..Going to Mammoth over Xmas..

He also said the Warm window will only last about 18 hours or so, from midday today to tomorrow morning, and there's only 0.3" of moisture for this rain event. This weekend actually looks really good for snowmaking.

It's possible that your vision is clouded by being so far south. Catskill gully washers are Whiteface dumps, sometimes.

Have fun in Mammoth, though. I'm sure you're already starting to worry about wind speeds shutting down lifts.

I will be based in Vegas..I have hotel reservations at Brianhead and Mammoth..If it's stormy at Mammoth I can go to June..Or just head to Brianhead..

I really can't see how any one can thumbs down the weather so far this early season. The thaws have been really mild and often accompanying snow before and after. November was one of the coldest I can remember and we haven't had a melt down or extreme soaker yet (at least one not accompanied by some snow before/after for a net gain or at least net 0). We can only hope to be so lucky if this pattern continues with even colder weather as winter actually begins.

Big fan of Tim Kelley. One of the few TV weather guys that I pay attention to via online streaming. He is a Boston weatherman for NECN but he skis NoVT a lot so he keeps tabs on storms and often makes specific mountain call outs during his TV broadcasts. While not super detailed call outs like LH on FIS, pretty damn good for a metro TV weatherman.  Jay picked him up this season for written weekly weather updates. I think this is his second year doing vlog updates for STE.
