You can also mountain bike to santonini. It is basically a gravel road. Dippikill is also a nice local hike. I dont konw how far cooperstown is, but the hall of fame will take a day. Yesterday i went bowling in lake george and then saw star wars in glens falls.

Great Escape Water Park in Queensbury should be good for a day diversion.
